The Institute aims to be a low pressure, low friction, high bandwidth environment for diverse teams of people to get creative about big projects or problems. And to do so alongside other groups that may have a different scholarly orientation, background, or agenda, but which are operating in basically the same environment, facing similar kinds of challenges and opportunities.

You bring the ideas and energy, and the Institute provides the scaffolding for a week together with a diverse set of peers to create a unique experience. While no specific deliverables are expected, we hope that most of the teams will go on to activate their projects after the Institute concludes, and this has proven to be the case in the past. Think of SCI as an incubation space for your projects.
