How are applications selected?

Applications will be reviewed by an advisory board that includes scholars, librarians, publishers, and technologists from Duke, UNC-CH, NCSU, NCCU, TRLN, and other partner institutions, and will be evaluated based on the criteria outlined in the RFP.

Our goal for the 2022 Institute is to invite about 30 people to participate. We look for a diverse set of projects and diverse set of participants both within and across groups. In past years of TriangleSCI we invited 5 or 6 teams, with 4 to 6 participants on each team. Given this year’s theme, we encourage teams with participants from organizations and backgrounds that have been especially affected by structural injustices and the crises of the past few years, and whose perspectives are especially important to planning for how to repair harms done and care better for those communities in the future.
